Since childhood I’ve been curious about causes of behavior, particularly in the people I knew best. I sought answers at UC Berkeley, first as a psychology graduate student and then as a researcher of college students’ personalities. Later I taught psychology classes in Bay Area community colleges.

I studied traditional theories and therapies in graduate school. I then completed professional training in experiential therapies with seasoned practitioners. With guidance from peers and experts in the field of addiction, I worked with adult children of alcoholics.  By writing and lecturing on commitment in relationships, I furthered my understanding of couples.

Life experience gave dimension to my formal education. Marrying and raising a family put my childhood into perspective. Mentors helped through life changes. Martial arts and meditation practice increased my centeredness.

Making this my life’s work has led to an understanding of healing that honors our individual journeys. It has provided an array of tools ranging from EMDR and EFT, which assist in relieving long-standing difficulties, to those that clarify and enrich the present, such as dream work, guided imagery, and assertiveness. Most important is intuitive listening as I counsel and support others.

Beyond all these influences, the work in my office happens as I make contact with your willingness to explore.  I bring my intuition and compassion and we meet.
